My New and Latest Room

Somewhat over due (especially since the quality of the pictures were rather poor, I didn’t really take my time with the pictures) as I have moved in last week. But yeah, after a very long time of contemplating where to put stuff so things look good and my workspace remains a work space (and figures were in places so they could be seen, not just for the sake of being there).

On a side note, school is finally starting for me. I have five essay courses (I think four, if not all of them, are lab courses) and two math courses (one advanced). Things will slow down, and if it gets too rough I may have to step out of blogging for good (actually, next semester gets significantly easier, we’ll have to see).

New Stuffz

It seems stuff are still popping out. I just opened up a whole wallop of packages yesterday, and today another one showed up. My roommate picked it up for me as I was at work, (and since I didn’t change my ID to include my new address yet I couldn’t go to the post office to get it anyway).

And no, I didn’t unbox all of my figures yet.

It’s kind of like Christmas

Well, as noted by yesterday’s post, I was amidst in organizing my junk as I’ve just moved into a new place. Among the stuff include every single package (figures, the box of DVDs I opened a few weeks ago) that I ordered in the previous four months.

I originally imagined a happier moment when I’m doing this. Regardless, opening up a bunch of packages of figures did lighten my mood a bit.

Orders and Pre-Orders

While there’s still a huge gap still until I need to purchase stuff for the anime club, I can’t help but start to budget a little seeing as…well, I foresee many things going to the gutters and expenses will sky rocket, mostly personal expenses. And so it happens, taking a look at personal spendings is unavoidable.

And in case anyone is wondering, it is indeed exam time, updates will be pretty much non-existant. This is one case where I’m absolutely sick of studying and the exam is in several hours anyway (actually I’ve not been stressed in the last few days, but whatever and for those who don’t know, the time when I’m most bored is the few hours between when I wake up and when I have to go write the exam).

Spotted at C77: Figma Rider

As Saber is definitely making a come back these recent years since the release of the original visual novel in 2004 and the anime in 2006, I was hoping that they’d be releasing a figure of Rider as well…My wish has partly come true, as her figma was spotted in C77.

The Fate franchise has sprung up due to the movie but this is rather strange, because from what I remember Rider has at most two lines in the entire story (and those lines that she mutters is shared with Fate).

The fact that Rider is getting figmatized brings out a pretty big problem for me: I don’t have figma Saber (the armored version or the normal clothed version). By succumbing to this will mean…I’ll have to pick up at least one of the Saber figmas (and most likely end up with both) orz.

Rider is set for release in May of 2010.

New GSC Saber Preview

We interrupt your boxing day budget planning for another intrution on your well balanced figure get list.

Remember that uncoloured Saber figure we saw during WonFes earlier this year? Well, the production plans are currently underway and we now have a coloured picture of the prototype.

Another New Package

Yeah, things are slowly arriving. This package came from a store that I’m buying from for the first time. BigPfeiffer is a manga store (that sell figures and other stuff as well) stationed in Halifax. Because the store is Canadian, one must factor in the conversion rate between CAD and Yen (right now it’s 1 CAD to 85 yen). On top of that, they do flat rate shipping of 7.5 CAD per order. That’s pretty good considering the size of this thing.

The only problem is that, as the store is based in North America, things get here slower, and there’s also the slight chance that we don’t get enough of said product. This package was actually overdue, not because of the post office or the store. The (one of the) receptionist of my residence building didn’t give me the notice of when the package arrived. I ended up talking way into getting her to check the packages for me, and, as luck would have it, it was there.

New Package

I'm not bothering to censor my address because you need to go through four sets of locked doors, opened by key cards, to get to my room. That's assuming there's no one checking IDs in the front door.

The first package I’ve recieved in ages. Once again, it’s one of those “more interesting” that happened these periods of time and it’s also a time for me to not angst over that stupid mistake I made on my organic chemistry exam (it’s the principle dammit! I want to be the 7th person who got perfect *runs away crying*) <- I’m seriously losing it, please ignore.
