What’s in the Bag?

Our club anniversary is drawing near and every year on the third Saturday of January, Western Anime Video Explosion hosts a 10 hour long show, sometimes there are games to be played and prizes to be won. This afternoon (WordPress runs on a different time, so this happened on the afternoon of the 20th), the current club president and I went to the only anime store in town to pick up prizes. It’s my second time going to the store, though I wasn’t very helpful at picking out prizes (I suggested getting a Miku plushie, but I’m probably the only few in the club that knows who she is).

It’s my second time visiting that store, during my first I found nothing of interest. This time they’ve got several figures, all for decent price due to the fact that I’m the only active figure collector in town. But no, I didn’t buy any (and no, there were no Saber figures), I did come back with something else though.

Start of the Year Stuff

The biggest problem with living on campus (aside from rowdy freshman drunks and parties) is the fact that you’re dependent on the reception people in the front desk for mail (the other thing is constantly getting kicked out at the end of the year). Vita should have arrived a few days after I left in 2009, and the HLJ box was sitting with the other boxes when I checked, but like the case with Saber Lily I got no notice for the package’s arrival.

Let it snow Let it snow Let it snow…

100_3840

I honestly don’t know what to say. It began as a cold rainy day yesterday morning and rain turned to snow in the afternoon. The snow continued and is still falling as I am writing up this post.

Apparently, this isn’t just happening to London. My friend at Queens told me that Kingston is also getting snow. What about the rest of Ontario? Or Canada (is Vancouver also getting snow?)

More pictures below. Yes, it really is snowing this hard at the time I took the pictures.

Luka’s Grand Entry

While trying to figure out what to do with the rest of the day, I found myself on Sankaku reading through various…interesting articles. Somehow, I came across this comic strip and I thought I’d share. I know it’s quite old, but I still think it’s funny XD

Gundam 0083 OP Karaoke LOL

While waiting for Rin and co. to send me pictures for the meet earlier, I guess I’ll hijack something someone posted on DannyChoo that I can’t get out of my head.

Anyway, as everyone knows, when singing Japanese songs most people would have the sounds written out in English and sing that. I’d like to know if it’s the same case in Chinese (since I never go sing ‘K myself, and most Chinese people won’t sing Japanese songs anyway).

I’m assuming it’s the Cantonese “karaoke” version of the Korean 0083 OP. That or the guy just have too much time on his hands.

Oh, at around 1:01, 自动装哂 means “automatic equip to self” or “automatic put on” or something like that (哂 is pronounced shen in mandarin, which is close enough to 身, this part I guessed though). I’ll leave you with the rest.

PS. Litokid can sing it really well XD

Does Santa Exist?

I’m going half crazy over stuff that I don’t even know. Exams are coming and I’ll be returning to Toronto on the 16th, and that’s pretty much all I’m looking forward to right now. Anyway, as you probably could tell I’m lacking many things, including something to write about. Actually, no, here’s something interesting that my psychology prof showed us in class.

About Page Updated

Image probably not related, from Gelbooru

With nothing really worth blogging about on my part these days, I’ve decided to clean up and update my about page. And I have done so. I don’t think there’s a point in posting the whole thing here, so I’ll link it (here).

Running to psych class now.

Long Weekend Plans

For us Canadians, Thanksgiving is actually more about the weekend than anything (for the most part anyway…but think about it, the actual day is on Monday and you’re back to school/work the day after). It’s actually pretty funny how one extra day seems to make such a big difference, but hey, one extra day is one less day of the week that you need to do those stuff you don’t want to do.

From what Rin said, he’s getting overloaded with school work. Apparently it’s similar to my case only (in my opinion) I’m much worse off, since the studying that I’ve been doing seems to be counter productive (ie getting easy stuff wrong on quizzes and missing stuff on lab reports). I don’t know, my mid-term exams start next Saturday and lasts for five weeks, with an exam on every saturday, and I hope I could score an average of 85 or something like that (I’m hoping it’d be higher, but I’m trying to be realistic).

Anyway, these are the stuff I’m planning for the weekend:

1. Finish Kara no Kyokai – I downloaded the first three movies like three weeks ago and I want to at least watch one of them. I’ll probably be blogging about it.

2. Finish translating the third scene of Fate/Hollow Ataraxia – It’s about the same length as the first one, so it shouldn’t take long.

3. Download and watch Lucky Star OVA – For god’s sake no one on my school’s DC++ network has it. I feel I like I can’t go anywhere since everyone is blogging about it >.<

4. Reviewing – Although I won’t be spending that much time studying, I still need to do some reading this weekend.

5. Sleep – This will probably consume most of the time, since last time I went home I slept for 14 hours the first night.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Rei Ayanami USB

Looking through Danny’s site I found the post of the new Rei Ayanami 4GB USB stick and well…I guess I’ll ramble on about my thoughts.

I don’t mix very well with technology. I currently find the specs of my laptop to be somewhat overkill since all I use it for is internet and word processor for leisure stuff (I don’t have any courses that expect me to write stuff, I prefer to handwrite my notes). I do carry carry two USBs with me, a leatherbound 512MB one and a 4GB one that I bought at Future Shop for 10 bucks. Well…I haven’t use any of them since school started, they’ve been hanging around my neck just because my desk is cluttered with too much junk.

The Rei USB key can be bought for 57 USD. If you’ve got money then by all means go for it. But as far as weird USB devices go, I prefer to stick to my USB Gouf Custom (Which is still incomplete, I still need to apply pastels for weathering).

Just got back my calculus quiz and found out I made a retarded mistake. You probably could tell that I’m pretty demoralized, sorry about this useless piece of entry.
