About Me
I’m 19 years old, a first generation Chinese Canadian, a resident of Toronto and currently enrolled in Biological and Medicals Sciences program in the University of Western Ontario in London Ontario, planning on doing Honours Specialization in Medical Biophysics for my undergrad. So yes…I’m living on campus.
I’ve been in touch with anime for quite a long time. When I was around 3 or so there was stuff like Crayon Shin-chan, Transformers and Voltron playing and I used to watch them along with other kids shows (the hosts of the shows are now old and have moved on T.T). I used to spent a lot of time playing Lego and then I got into building plastic models by grade 4. My first gundam kit was the 1/144 GP03S in grade 6, although the majority of the stuff I built were skill level 3 military kits (skill level 3 require glue to join the parts, and paint for it to look good), although my painting skills sucked.
I’ve announced to the world that I’ve become an otaku in April of 2008 (very recently). This is of course due to a freak accident that made me run into Saber (que for corny music). Anyway, I absolutely loved Fate/Stay Night (not so much the ending though, I was sad for a good 4 months) and I got into other Type-Moon productions such as Fate/Stay Night eroge, Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, and Tsukihime. This was also the time when I decided to start collecting figures of Saber, and so I did.
I got into Gunpla in Feburary when my friends got me the 1/144 Dynames and 1/144 Virtue for my birthday. My next two kits were the 1/144 Kyrois and 1/144 Exia (I got Exia on the day the last episode of season 1 aired, I was competitng with half a dozen other people who were also looking for the 1/144 Exia). After looking through a few sites I felt like I should move on and started building the kits properly and painting them. My first painted kit was the HG 1/100 Sword Impulse, painted with Mr.Colour lacquers and Tamiya spray. After that I got my first MG at Anime North 2008, and then I started customizing them.
With all that said, I don’t have much money nor space (especially now) so my collection is rather small. I want to start building resin kits this summer but I have no idea what will happen yet. Chances are I’ll be taking a summer course and that’ll take 2 months out.
I guess I’ll present a few more facts about me:
1. I don’t drink nor do I smoke. Not really because of health reasons (I think the fumes I inhale from paint is more toxic than cigaratte smoke), but more because I feel that they’re a waste of money.
2. My taste in fashion is abyssmal. My general grab is jeans and a hooded sweatshirt with a Western (that’s what my school is commonly referred to as) lanyard hanging out from my right hand side, this is for all four seasons. I dress the same way in the summer.
3. I came to Canada in the April of 2000
4. I lived in Germany for 2 years (1995-1997), went to school in China for two and a half years, and stayed in Germany for 4 months before I came to Canada.
5. I took grade 1 twice and skipped grade 4
6. I <3 Saber
7. I dislike shopping. The only mall that I actually enjoy going to is Pacific Mall.
8. I’m rather careful on spending money, and don’t like to do things that generally require me to…spend money…
9. I love the Japanese culture, and I love sushi. I say we go to an all you can eat sushi place if we’re going out somewhere for lunch/dinner.
10. I don’t have a girlfriend, although I wouldn’t mind if the window of opportunity strikes. That is, if they don’t mind me living in the library.
11. I don’t watch TV as entertainment. The occasional news or weather channel only (and that’s quite rare).
12. My only gaming console is my computer. I don’t have DS like most other otakus do.
13. I also don’t have a cellphone.
14. I love math and physics, which apparently marks me as a rare breed (well, rarer than I already am I suppose).
15. Did I mention I <3 Saber?
About this site:
This is generally a place for me to ramble about random things. Anime, figures, eroge, school, events, and other random things. As a university student (especially in science), my schedule is hectic. I’m currently aiming for at least two entries per week.
Two frequently reoccuring entries are my weekly Gundam 00 review/parody (if you can call it that) and Fate/Hollow Ataraxia scene translations. I’m doing the translations for fun as well as for the benefit of those who want to know the story.
Design is quite simple, I suck at all forms of web page design thing (I had my friend make the banner for me).
University in Canada is tough, only those with the mentality to do well will survive, what else can I say?
Oh, and I absolutely hate horror movies.

your parents and friends are the same as mine then ^^ really my mom and dad find my anime collecting to be foolish and overly obsessive and so do my friends. I pretty much have my blog for the same reason you do ^_^ nice to know I am not the only one.

Wich part did you live in?
I dont drink or smoke either because… well…just because^^
Now if youd only look like saber in that pic ^_^
Hey Blowfish
I lived in Stuttgart when I was there. Don’t speak any German now though T.T
And if I were born a girl, I’d wish I looked like Saber too ^^;
Hm, careful with your spending eh? lulz.
Also, this is the first time that I’ve seen your Chinese name. I was under the impression that it was one of the weird parodies. =)
Hey Just found your blog through Danny Choo. I also live in Toronto, I was just wondering where you do your figure and figma shopping in Toronto.
Trying to find a Fate Figma at retail
@Fumika: Rin is a better person to ask for this case. But AnimeXtreme would be my choice (even though I don’t like the employees there). I do my figure shopping online at HLJ or HobbyFan. I’ve yet to buy a figure from retail that isn’t bootleg (don’t go to pmall for figures).
Soooo.. You’re going to be a doctor too, huh??
Just know it,,, ^^
Hi GNdynames,
nice blog you have. Your gunpla’s are made very good ^^.
I salute
Hey nice blog! I found you through いつも いつでも いつまでも blog site. Wow, you use to live in Germany! thats pretty cool. I also think saber is one better looking anime characters out there.
Nice site ^_^ Glad to see a devoted otaku towards Fate/Stay Night ^_^ It’s a really good eroge ^_^
You’re 19! Just like me! I’m gonna keep an eye on your blog then! (haha, love that Genshiken reference)
yeah, 19 too? I like your into-straight forward!
I wish I could go to Germany or Canada one day. I have only lived in Italy and the US. Italy for 3 years of my life. Also, you aren’t much older than me. I’m 17 and will be 18 this November.
Hello Sir… Ca I be included in your blogroll? I already added you in my bloglist in http://animemmorpgs.blogspot.com. I know it’s too much to ask this but I hope I can make it in your list. Thank you very much
You know that “otaku” (オタク) has a negative connotation and quite offensive, whereas “maniac” (マニアック) is probably what you mean when referring to yourself as an anime-and-other-related-goods-fan
