Ayako Kawasumi （川澄 綾子 Kawasumi Ayako) is possibly most famed for her role as the voice actress of Saber, who…well…If you managed to find your way over here you would know who she is. She is also referred to as Ayasumi (for me, I call her Ayako-sama), the Chinese fanbase calls her 川澄姐 （Kawasumi-nee).

Being a seasoned seiyu Ayako-sama has had many roles throughout her career (maybe not as much as…say…Kikuko Inoue, but they are really quite old). However, the voice she used for Saber is actually pretty far off from the kind of characters she usually voiced. As luck would have it, I’ve found a video composed of many roles that Ayako-sama played in.

Well…This list isn’t exactly my favourite, and that’s not because I only know like four of the characters in there. I wished Akari Kamigishi from ToHeart, Chizuru from Kanokon and Kanako Ohno from Genshiken were there because those were roles that Ayak0-sama are famed for. As well, Koishi Herikawa from Onegai Teacher and that girl from Kino no Tabi OVA should have been included. But all in all, you can tell Ayako-sama’s voice right away if you pay a bit of attention.
After watching that video, one distinct question are on most of your minds I’m sure. Let me tell you, that same question is on my mind.

Her memorable role in my eyes will have to be Aoi Sakuraba. She played her role so well, I can’t help but fanboy everytime I see or someone mentioned about her.

Blanc Neige’s voice in both Shining Wind and the anime adaptation, also Sky Girls’ Sakurano Otoha, two distinct voice versions of her versatility. Ayako is not yet a true vet, but she sure is almost already there and her talent is really good.
She also did Papillon Noir for GaoGaiGar Final!!! That makes her super amazingly awesome ^_^. A role for Sky Girls is pretty cool too ^_^

I’m surprised that they didn’t have the psycho lesbo Himemiya Chikane from Kannazuki no Miko in there. That role convinced me that she had more than 1 voice. Let’s face it. Most of her roles sound the same.
Oh, and I loved Sara from Sokou no Strain and Eneus from Macademy Wasshoi. God I wanted my own Meganeus…

But she’s still a far cry from my top 3 seiyuus (tho 1 ironically only has 1 voice, but it’s like silk)

@GundamJehutyKai: The biggest problem I had with Mahoromatic is that I feel like I’m waiting for my execution, other than that it’s great (but with that reason I didn’t manage to finish it).
Well, Mahoromatic is notorious for having one of the worst anime endings ever!! So you’re probably not missing much. The manga did things a little better tho.
But I think I just love the fact that Kawasumi had to act all straight laced when everyone knows that mahoro was one of the more perverted characters even with her famous tagline!
I like her as Saber and Henriette Hime the best.
To be honest, in her part as Tazusa Sakurano she doesn’t sound too far from Saber. Basically, speaking slower, more purposefully, making it sound as if someone had injected a spine and 15 years into the other roles’ voices.
Also, she’s 33, she’s not that old.
