Fate/stay Night Maid Café Event Opens in Akiba

Located upon Sankaku Complex.

An event similar to this occured a few months ago, as a maid cafe (not sure if it’s the same one) hosted the event for the release of Fate/Unlimited Codes. Now, CURE Maid Café has temporarily adopted the “Fate/Stay Night” theme for Fate/Unlimited Codes Portable, scheduled to be released on June 18th. Although I don’t see the sales ending up as hot as the PS2 version since the nendoroid is a regular release (and if it is bundled with the game I’d be banging my head on the wall this very minute).

*grumbles* lucky bastards getting their Saber Lilies while the rest of us have to wait until the end of August *grumbles*

Aside from putting up posters and displaying merchandise to drooling fans, they also serve food that have been made to serve the current theme. They include…

Father Kotomine’s Super Hot Asababa Donburi (¥1,000, Set ¥1,200)

A popular plate the last time we had it, Father Kotomine’s Super Hot maabou donburi (rice bowl) comes back even spicier!

Those with confidence in their love of spiciness, please try it!!

Not really surprising, since the mapo tofu scene is a classic scene in the visual novel. Although it looked much spicier in the visual novel, and served without the rice. I love mapo tofu, hotter the better.

Angra Mainyu Pasta (¥900, Set ¥1,100)

The image of the “World’s Holy Grail Mud” has been put into this black curry dish.

It has a mysterious bittersweet taste to it.

Eh…If I my stomach wasn’t so tough I’d avoid it at all costs. Admit it, it’s not the prettiest dish out there, but it does fit the theme (although Angra Mainyu is not evil, he’s just misunderstood).

Archer’s Projection Plate (¥800, Set ¥1,000)

A spherical-cut potato and shrimp fry dish made to invoke Kanshou and Bakuya, this plate is liberally spread with red Italian sauce.

I don’t get this. (for those who cares, Kanshou and Bakuya were references to the first iron weapons crafted in China, and the story in Fate somewhat resembles the actual story but captured some of the essential points. Also, the twin swords were straight, not curved).

The drinks look pretty good (probably because it’s pretty hot and I’m wearing my usual thick long sleeve grabs). But, you’re probably paying for the titles rather than the drinks themselves (which I wouldn’t mind, if I was there that is).

Saber Lily’s Cake (¥600, Set  ¥700)

A Victorian cake with marmalade jam sandwiched in between layers of sponge cake, with Saber Lily modeled in white flour-sugar. (Limited Quantity)

White Coffee Ice Cream With Caramel (¥500, Set ¥700)

An ice cream with the flavor of coffee, this dessert represents Saber’s dazzling blonde locks in the caramel sauce and her pure hearted spirit in the color of the white ice cream.

My imagination sucks, since I fail to see the poetic connections there orz.

It is also said that limited edition Saber Lily drinking glasses are sold at the events for 1050 yen. However, they are availiable at HobbySearch and HLJ.

The event is said to run from June 12th to June 21st. That means, I’m talking to you Q, go there, take pictures and show the rest of us die hard fans who are stranded across large bodies of water (for the case of North America, across the globe), because cosplay pictures have not started circulating yet ;_;
